Who am I?
I will present myself very briefly. My name is Victoria, I am a student of 3th who loves decoration and who decided to make a stage d’observation on the Interior decorator profession. During my research, I found the company «breathing & decorated» which accepted me as an intern for a week. So I did a week’s internship in the Breatire & Decorates agency with as a internship master: Caroline Goujon, interior decorator.
Presentation of the profession
What is the Interior decorator profession ? This profession is to develop living spaces taking into account the tastes of the customer and the given budget. The interior decorator takes care of the aesthetic side of a space. He gives advice on the combination of colors, materials and styles. He creates 2D and 3D plans on paper and /or computer. Then, he will show projects to customers by explaining the choice of this provision, materials and colors. An interior decorator can create their business (status of self -employed) or be an employee of an agency.

I find that in the game, it is rather quite detailed and I think it can make young people want to do this job.

Will I do this job later?
This job would surely suit me but I don’t think I do this job later. I would like to discover other types of trades before embarking on the interior decoration. It suits me on the working method but also on the work to be done. But I think it made me discover what I like and what I don’t like in the ways of working.
My opinion on internship week in interior decoration
My general impressions are very positive. Indeed, I really liked this discovery course. I found it very enriching whether on the professional side or on the personal side. I also had the chance to have a fantastic internship master who transmitted his passion to me through this week of discovery. Thanks to this week, I discovered many software that will surely serve me later but I especially discovered the importance of being organized in this profession.
I still thank Caroline for welcoming me and for making me discover her job by transmitting her passion for interior decoration.
The little word of the end
I am delighted to have left the blog pen to Victoria, my young intern who spent a week at the agency by my side to discover the profession of interior decorator. This experience was very rewarding for me. I had a real pleasure in exchanging with Victoria, a very mature and very applied young girl. She made a great internship report with an excellent note of 20/20.
Being able to welcome a young 3rd student to my agency has had a lot of meaning for me. Do you want to know why? At the age of 14, I already knew precisely what I wanted to do with my life: Interior designer ! 25 years ago, to choose this professional path was completely not recommended for me … So I followed another path to return to my first love by the way of professional retraining of years later … In my opinion, it is therefore very important to give time to our young people to help them find their professional path!
Info in + : Since the beginning of 2025, I have not been able to welcome young people for their 3rd year discovery internship.
